Calibrated natural stone paving combines the rustic charm of a natural surface with a machined underside for a more consistent thickness for ease of laying. Comes in hand cut rough edges and machine cut sawn edges.
Calibrating is a process that involves taking a variable thickness hand split (riven) stone and passing it through a strip mill. This process leaves the stone a fairly constant thickness around the 22mm depth with a series of distinct grooves in the underside of the stone.
Infinite paving hand split Indian Sandstone, Indian Limestone and Brazilian Slate all come with the calibrated option. Calibration adds to the cost of the paving as it is secondary processing of the paving. But can save you on labour cost making the job more efficient and cost saving.
