Description

Feel awe-inspired in the presence of this wonderful Kota Black limestone paving. This stunning jet black stone resembles something almost otherwordly, yet it is 100% natural. It looks even better wet and is pretty much one consistent strong colour. There are almost no variations in shade, keeping the stone a uniform, conspicuous black. The word Kota is also sometimes spelt ‘Kotah’ but they both refer to the same stone.

These paving slabs are hand-split to give a riven surface. This combined with a smooth touch and a natural shimmering gloss makes this black Indian limestone paving perfect for modern and chic designs everywhere — especially at home and in commercial and office spaces but also in outdoor garden spaces, driveways and on patios.

Other great features of Kota Black limestone paving include:

  • Striking & elegant appearance
  • UK weatherproof: frost & rain-resistant
  • Non-slip
  • Very easy to maintain
  • Perfect for effortless, eye-catching living spaces
  • Highly sought-after across the UK & world
  • Hardwearing & will last decades
  • Very high-density, less porous than many other stones
  • Eco-friendly — few damaging chemicals are used during manufacturing & easily recyclable
  • It’ll add value to your house

Our Kota Black Indian stone is calibrated to a thickness of 22mm which is the recommended size for limestone. We’ve got a collection of mixed size patios including with hand-cut edges and sawn edges of various different sizes.

Please note: As with all types of natural stone paving, each slab is expected to have slightly unique patterns, tonal variations and differences in colour.

Delivery information

Deliveries are made using an 18ton lorry with a tail lift. This requires a solid, concrete or tarmac flat surface for the offload. Deliveries are kerbside only, although the drivers will usually attempt to place on the driveway if possible. We cannot deliver onto a slope. Flat gravel driveways would require sheets of plywood for the wheels of the manual pallet truck to roll on. Hiab deliveries may be possible in and around London, providing a crane offload onto most surfaces.

Please ensure someone is available to sign for the delivery, otherwise you will be liable for a £30 re-delivery charge per pack if the goods are unable to be left.

Whilst every effort is made for your delivery to arrive on the day specified, it is not possible to guarantee the delivery date as we use a third party pallet network for our deliveries. Due to higher rates of driver shortages than usual, we currently advise allowing an additional day or two on top of the specified timeframes, in case of delays.

We offer standard 3-5 working day delivery or optional express 1-2 working day delivery for £15 per pack on checkout.

Standard delivery is included on most orders within mainland England, Wales and Scotland. There is an additional charge of £40 per pack for the following Postcodes: AB, DD, FK (8-9, 11-21), IV, KW, KY (6+), PA, PH, TR

Whilst our carriers will always make every effort to deliver the products on the agreed delivery date we can not be held responsible for matters beyond our control that results in your products not arriving on the day in question. Please do not book builders or hire equipment for the day of delivery in case of a delayed delivery.

Infinitepaving Ltd will be in no way liable to you for any loss, damage or expenses, either indirect or consequential, resulting out of the above situations or from the use of products purchased by you on Infinitepaving Ltd.

Returns and Refund information

We will happily issue a refund for any product purchased from Infinite Paving, providing we are notified within 14 days of the delivery date, and subject to the following conditions:

- the product must be returned unused and as new, in saleable condition, and in the original product packaging. Returns can only be collected if the pallets are on a concrete flat surface, or were delivered with a crane.

- you will receive a full refund of the amount paid less £150 per crate to cover the original delivery and return charges. Due to nature of stone, being a product with natural variations between batches, returns based on colour will still be subject to the £150 delivery and collection charge.

Damages

Whilst every effort is made to get the stone to you in perfect condition, we include into the price an allowance of up to 2 damaged slabs per pack, on an average over your order. We always use the 2 smallest damaged slabs against the allowance.

We will issue a refund for any amount above 2 damaged slabs per pack upon provision of photos showing the damaged slabs, received within 7 days of receipt of goods. It is generally advisable to allow an additional 5%-10% leeway on the amount ordered for damages or cuts or the odd slab you may not like.

Jointing Compound

Designed for use in all weathers, replaces traditional mortars and grouts with a more modern and efficient product. Available in neutral, grey and dark grey to give you the perfect look.

FAQs

1. Does Kota Black limestone fade?

Yes. It does tend to fade over time and more so if the stone is exposed to rain and sunlight. If untreated, the black can pass over into more of a charcoal grey — but funnily enough, it will always return back to jet black when wet. There are products you can use to restore the original black colours. And a sealer will also help to prolong the lifespan of the colour.

Though it’s worth mentioning that many people enjoy the mellowing of the colour over time, as it can look more ‘traditional’.

2. Does black limestone need to be sealed?

Not necessarily — but we would recommend it. Sealing your limestone will help to preserve its dark colour tones for longer.

3. Can I power wash black limestone?

You can but we don’t recommend it. It can be hard even for expert cleaning companies to power wash the stone properly without blasting away parts of the surface and opening it up to erosion. Try some warm soapy water — or a neutral or mild alkaline-based cleaning agent — and a bit of elbow grease instead.

4. Does black limestone get hot?

No. Limestone stays cool beneath your feet no matter how hot it gets. Black limestone tends to absorb a little more heat than lighter colours. But it still stays very cool.

5.What are the cons of Kota Black Indian stone?

This gorgeous stone is vulnerable to stains and marks from mould, liquids and bacteria (but you can protect it against all of these by sealing it in advance).

And finally, as a soft stone, it can be scratched or marked if heavy or sharp objects fall on it. But if you take care around it, this stone should last a very long time in near pristine condition.
